I have been fishing some new areas around the Hernando County area on the Florida West coast and the last time out I ran out of greenbacks and pinfish. Man, it was hard to leave as good of a bite as we had going. I have been using sabiki rigs and my wife and I were able to put about 20-30 baits in the well after about an hour jigging near a marker.
I have always netted my bait, but there are very few areas of shallow sandy shoreline to find baits. So, I have heard that using a combination of grits and cat food rolled into balls and thrown out over the shallow flats will chum up pinfish, grunts and greenbacks.
I thought I might get a few of your recipies that have been proven to work before I head out again.
As always, thanks for your help.
