Re: Chyrsler Motor
I'm not a Chrysler expert but here are the basic facts. The parts are out there but some are difficult or impossible to find.NAPA auto parts marine products catalog lists about 13 pages of Chrysler/Force parts and about 70 pages of Evinrude/Johnson parts back to the 1950s. The motor uses a capacitor discharge ignition that you need to trouble shoot carefully or damage can result. It uses a distributor. I think you should check to see if ignition parts are available.Fuel cunsumption is a little heavier than compareable major brands.Resale is low.<br /> Plusses initial cost, relatively simple to work on.Personally I wouldn't buy a Chrysler.Even if it was only because of not knowing how long it might take to find some parts in the event of the inevitable repairs that can occur with any motor.
