Re: Cindy Sheehan Quits

I'm not going to get into this huge debate about Cindy and approval ratings and all that BS, just going to make a quick question...

Was ANYONE here shocked when the Democrats won back control of Congress and DIDN'T pull the US out of Iraq/Afghanistan?

I have to say that I'm a conservative, but when it comes to politics, it doesn't matter whether your on the right or left...it's ALL politics and it's all about POWER. Tell the people whatever they want to hear to gain more POWER. I think the war was necessary, but run like complete crap. We're too busy trying to make this a PC war. I think we should take the gloves off and finish it. As long as we ***** foot around with these wackjobs (Islamic extremists) this country will never be safe. The border issue is a JOKE. Homeland Security is a JOKE. There are SO many things that could be done here to REALLY improve our security, it amazes the hell out of me that NOTHING is being done.
With things the way they are, there will be another attack on US soil. I'm shocked it hasn't happened sooner. Then all the political powers that be will rally and talk about unity for a year or two, and it'll go right back to the way it is now.
The powers that be just can not and will not agree on anything.
I think it was Gallagher that said it one of his shows... "You couldn't get the 10 Commandments through Congress if Moses was buying drinks!"

Well, I said more than I planned to, but this IS a free-speech forum I suppose. I'm upset with the way this country is being run, and whether you're a democrat or republican, you have to agree that until something MAJOR changes in the political system, it'll never be anything more than a quagmire.

Just another opinion...

I am a Disabled Veteran from the Gulf war. I believe her son is rolling in his grave. The woman has made a career of protesting. She more than likely is no longer recieving any funding. After her son was killed, she spent his insurance money to buy land in crawford. Yet a year after his death he still had no headstone??? Greaving mother my as$.

How quick everyone forgets 9/11. Had we not stood up, many more acts of terrorism would have taken place on our own land. Dont say it wouldnt happen, because it already did. You dont have to like what the military is doing, but just ask a soldier how he feels about the war and you will find out where his or her heart is. Most of you would feel ashamed

You "Gentlemen" disgust me! Beating up on a mother that gave her son for your insane war. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Let's see a show of hands. How many of YOU lost a son (or daughter) to war? Maybe someday you'll see the light and join the 3/4 of this country that see this war and occupation as a blunder of Biblical proportion. Nah, if you had any sense at all, you already would have. You're obviously entrenched in your delusions and there is no hope for you. :( Please continue making fools of yourselves. You're doing a Great job!

Willy, my man. I know Libs worship "polls", (especially when a Republican President is down), but have ya ever pondered why this Country was established as a CORNSTATUTIONAL REPUBLIC? Now ya know why: Willy. The mindless masses that Madison and Hamelton debated about when they structured our system. How many of those dim wits who answer those polling entities you cite know who the Vice President is? (I bet they are real experts about homosexuality, that you will be releaved to know). Cindy Sheehan is a sad case of the Left exploiting someone with a lot of grief and a very dysfunctional brain. The Left seems ta luv that type of stuff. Respectfully, JR

plaese re-read the following post again (if able). This is what I stated.

She truelly is a pathological tragedy. I will not be suprised if she tries to off herself.
She aint right in the head.
Where did I "beat up on that unfortunate wacko? After all, if you bothered to read her actual post (which it is now obvoius you HAVEN'T), you'd read of the anger she directed at YOU LIBS too!! She did not get what she expected, except for the fame.... Now she is infamous. That is your fault for sticking her grieving, winey, wacky presence on a pedestal in a Crawford DITCH!!!
Get a grip, Willy. You're losing it lately.

Please allow me to re-familiarise you with your media-darling:

I stated she was a tragedy, Willy. Neocons generally say what they mean.... No shiny mirrors.
She is a tragic waste, and YOU, my liberal friend played your part in placing her out on that half-sawn limb... I have been telling the TRUTH for a year as regards cindy shiite.

And also like I stated, I will not be the least bit suprised to read about her body bieng found alongside a suicide note simular to the one she posted that got this thread going, addressed to her old support group on the daily kos, and her "friends overseas".
You pretty-much disgust me also, for the spin of record. Self-induced spin that "disgusts you" only a year after these pics were taken, illlustrating a very UGLY, EVIL agenda!!!
How many more will you use this way? I realise the cindy's are rare -- It's pretty hard to find one that you can latch-onto and suck the life-force out of, aint it?
They have to be a bit gone to brgin with. Don't give up hope, Willy. I'm sure you'll hook-up with a disgruntled vet, or grieving mother. Surely, there has to be one out there somewhere.

Re: Cindy Sheehan Quits

Not one single hand went up. What a suprise! Just the endless hen-pecking in the barnyard.

Here is your hand willybwright.

He was not my son, he was my nephew. He was the tiny boy who wrote me when I was in Irag all those years ago. He looked up to me because I was doing want the country wanted, He was the one who stood in front of his grammar class, who supported me, wrote me and sent me gifts while I was in harms way far from home. He said he wanted to be like me, and grew up and kept that promise. He ended up in the same sand, and everyday when I think of him I have to wonder if part of me is responsible for him being gone. Your a boater right? or you wouldn't be here. Did you enjoy memorial day week-end? He never will again.

So all those that read this raise a toast.

To a fallen comrade

Re: Cindy Sheehan Quits

My sincerest condolences for your loss, Captain. As well as my heartfelt thanks for your service. My oldest brother survived Vietnam and my brother-in-law survived the first Iraq war as you. I count my blessings every time I see them. My eldest son is not yet of the age to worry much about joining the armed services, but in less than five years, he will. My fear is that this will be another Vietnam where the Draft becomes reinstated forcing him to choose as I myself considered. I already made up my mind to join the Air Force rather than be drafted, but we pulled out before I came of age. I did indeed enjoy the part of the Memorial Day weekend that I didn't have to work and I was dismayed to see that mine was the only flag flying to honor our fallen heroes within blocks in this predominantly conservaitve community.

I hope your dear nephew's sacrifice will not be in vain. You said that you regret the loss and bear some guilt for it. Please don't let guilt overshadow your pride and let's hope the fewest such sacrifices are made in the future and still achieve the objective that seems to be evermore elusive with each sacrifice made. I truly hope the Iraqi people can get a grip on the opportunity they've been presented. So far that seems to elude them and I have serious doubts that our continued presence will change that. Time will tell.

This is true. They have an opportunity. We gave it to them. The majority are acting on it to build a free nation. It is the small minority of bad guys that the press hammers is with in the news to persuade us that we are wrong in our efforts. We really are succeeding. There is good news coming from Iraq if you just pay attention. Many things have been accomplished and many more are in the works. We are not the bad guys here.
