circulation pump Bi directional?

Replacing circ pump with new one for my 460 rebuild and found one sierra co which is a so called Bi directional. Is there a difference from stock pump versus after market Bi direct. ...ie I'm thinking that the flow rate might be different due to the BI direct impeller blades. (pitch of blades). I know another stupid question! But I'm curious!
