Can I tow that with my Dakota pickup? Just a short distance-probably about 90 miles.

THat's pretty cool (for someone with $100k to drop on a toy.) I just hope the builder had an engineer run stability numbers on it before building it. I would be pretty nervous and any strong wind and/or waves.

i dont think they ran the numbers. especially on a house boat platform.
i cant see it. too much topside.....too much sail....the boat is a death trap on the open water or during a wind.

you gotta admit......that is nice work on the wood.

Re: CL: 65' Pirate Ship, only $99K

not too long ago......there was a boat converted by 2 guys.....i think it was 135 feet.

they wanted a commercial venture.......so they bought a boat,,,,,,,,added two upper decks to it.....they didnt run the numbers.
the listing arm was way off.
there was so much top side and so much weight up high....

after 2 million dollars and a divorce.....they finally splashed the boat........the water level was too low to fully get the boat off the trailer....however...the boat started to list......very bad.....it was a good thing it was still on a custom trailer for launch. if it did not have the trailer under it ...it would have rolled !

...they brought the boat back up on land.....and had to attach 2 very large sponsons to the boat....one each side.....they didnt run the numbers on the sponsons either....

we never got to find out if they actually got on the water.....it was supposed to run somewhere up in canada around montreal.
the name was abslou 80.........

we just called it fugly !

Yep, that is it... Despite the initial problems, the thing actually turned out be a pretty decent success. There was a MASSIVE thread on a different forum from a guy that hung out at the boat yard where it was being built. There was also a video of its first launch... It was an agonizing slow process, but the stern just didn't start to float. They ended up adding some sponsons on the back.
