I thought that you had cked the tach against a shop tach, sorry the boat tachs are close for the most part but could very easily be off a couple of hundred RPM at idle--Bob

Virago, you have got to know some one with a induction tach, auto shop, maybe lawn and garden, snowmobile they just cost to much for some thing thats seldom use by the average guy. Besides I alway spend to much for my stuff so I am not the guy to ask---Bob :) :p :D

I have not used one so I don't know, but you really need one that reads off the plug wire not the alt--Bob

We have a pressure gauge on a fuel line that we hook to a tank and the float bowl fuel connection, pump the bowl full to the boss on the inside of the bowl and set the fuel level to the top of the boss with 8# fuel pressure---Bob
laddies I hooked my primer bulb to a T line connecter and hooked a pressure gauge to it and then hooked my bowl to it pumped it up and the fuel came just over the boss aplied 8# of pressure to it and it did not put any more fuel in the bowles does this sound right

Extra fuel will usually NOT cause a high idle, if anything it will "choke" the idle a bit.

-W
