Here is a question for you. I have called a machine shop here and they say they don't know if they would be able to rethread the Hydraulic lines into the bottom of the pump. Do you think this is feasable, since you did say that you were about to have to do a few pumps there? He said something about the helicoil, may not hold the pressure or something, but he would have to see it to know if they could do it.

Should they beable to do it?

Thanks,
Bryan Cox

How much is it going to cost to role the dice...
It might work.. I've done some stuff I never thought would hold... brazed some trim lines with a coathanger for a temp fix and they never did fail... But... you can't ever be sure.. The system can see presure above 500psi so I wouldn't gaurantee the repair... Weigh the cost of getting a new one against the repair cost... don't forget to think about how much trouble it is for you to put it back on, fill it, bleed it, and then do it all again if it leaks...
If you have more time then money like alot of us and it's a major savings for you try it... I'd give you about 70% chance of being ok....

I have not started that project yet, its low on the list, I will try a heli coil first, I think that it will hold it. The tap and drill bit will have to be reworked a little to get the threads to the bottom of the hole. I am looking for cheap mercruser pump assy to convert also. Im in Panama City now be here about 3 more days then home.

Thanks Guys,
Howie, the problem is, you can't buy a new pump for this anymore, so Clanton has been helping me try to figure out what I can do to get this fixed or find me a used one, this is why the question, about if he thought this might hold or work even if the Machine shop isn't so sure. I will be down in Washington, NC this weekend to watch the Fountain Boat races, can't wait. I'm thinking bout asking my girlfiriends brother inlaws dad about it, hes good at working on boats and stuff, so he may know a trick. I'm gonna see if I can't take it off again tonight so I can take it down there.

Have fun down there in Panama City, wish thats where I was.

Thanks,
Bryan Cox

HowieDean,
The part is the actual Pump Base that has all the threads that I need to have repaired or replaced. I have all the little BB's inside and I have the Screw in Check Valves with O'Rings that all work correctly.

The only part is that the threads on 2 of the lines have been somewhat stripped and now leak under Pressure on the downside. The Motor still works great, so if you have anything that I might beable to use I would greatly apreciate it.

Here is an Image of the Pump and motor. It is #5 on the Picture, the part I need is the base where it shows A B C D, where the lines attach: http://www.dolleroffshore.com/parts.cfm?c=btp&m=6&pn=1437&r=6948

I tried to purchase it from them, but they have said that it is no longer made. But they still have it on their website.

Thanks,
Bryan Cox
