Re: Clean warter flow 3.0 MERCRUISER

Welcome to iboats :)
You will need to be more specific about your engine......
Post the year & serial # if possible......
Also is your engine raw water cooled or closed cooled?
Is there a specific problem that you are trying to fix?......JK
If you are experiencing overheating due to lack of water flow......
Check the impeller in the drive, or the exhaust elbow...;)

Start wth the Hose that runs from the inner Transom Plate to the T-Stat Housing,+ disconnect it There......
Is there Water Flow to There,..??....
If Not,.... Put Back-Pressure to it,+ See if water will come out the bottom of the Outdrive......
Water Pump looks good.

Please Explain,..........

Did you Pull the Impeller for Inspection,..??....
How about the Pump Housing,+ Wear Plates,...??....
Are you Sure yu got the Water Tube back in right when you Reinstalled the Lower Unit,..??....

I replaced Water Pump spring of 2006 and eveything ran fine all summer. Pulled the lower unit today and Water Pump looked good. It had not been run for about 2 months iput the muffs on and started last weekend. No water would come through the engine.

Re: Clean warter flow 3.0 MERCRUISER

was the water pump pulley on the front of the engine turning? If not, it could be froze up due to the temperatures .... don't ask me if I know cuz I'll deny having done that just recently :)

PS.. I don't think you should use a lot of pressure on the muffs.... ever.
