Last Year I bought the 1981 Sea Ray 260. It was maintained very well exterior, interior and mechanically.
However, the add-on electrical circuits were done sloppily.
This year I said it wasn't going in the water until I rewired the messy part. being an electrical engineer that has worked on design of military systems, I couldn't look at the mess anymore. I spent about 12 hrs crammed into the engine bay with heat-shrink connectors, blue sea systems fuse boxes and marine-grade wire.
Now I just need to replace the thermostat, de-winterize, and reinstall the outdrive and I will be ready to go!
