What problem are you fixing? Most of time, people are waxing to try and get rid of oxidation. It won't touch it, if that is your problem.

The only way to fly.....

Tried a cleaner wax this year. Didn't get the "deep shine" you get with Collinite paste wax. Not quite half way thru the season and most of the shine is gone. Back to Collinite in the fall

I think many times people need to take it a step further than just a cleaner wax to get the results they want. I succumbed and did a full 5 step buff on my boat at the beginning of the season to address what the original owner I bought it from ignored and wow is all I can say. The final step was this very same product though technically I didn't need the cleaner wax when doing a five step, I had a new bottle of it. I didn't think it could get any shinier and then got to the polish step which is where the deep shine comes in. Season is 2/3 over and it still looks like I just buffed it (as expected given what I did) and it lives on a lake not in a garage getting rarely used.

No serious oxidation. The surface is paint on outboard and an aluminum boat. I just want to restore SOME of the shine.

I wouldn't use a marine cleaner on an outboard or painted aluminum. It is meant for gelcoat and is way too abrasive for paint. Get something made for cars that won't scratch your paint up.

For those of you who are NOT into a "showroom shine" that is going to take all day, I recommend this product.

Meguiar’s Flagship Premium Cleaner/Wax

I just used clean terry towels to apply and buff. The bottle says it will take 2 coats and in some areas it took 3, but it goes on and comes off easily.
