What is the best method to clean a hull? My boat (an 86 Grady-White) is "stained" and i have been unable to remove them. I have tried rubbing compound on a slow buffer, laquer thinner, comet, etc... There are a couple of spots where the previous owner spilled something on the side of the boat and "bleached" the stains out, so i am thinking that chemical means would be best. I have not tried bleach or any other chemicals besides the laquer thinner. I am a little timid about pouring random chemicals on the hull, and i don't want to burn throught the gel-coat with a high-power buffer. Any suggestions?<br />Thanks in advance

It may sound a bit crazy but I have used Crest toothpaste with good results on tough stains before. I am thinking if you used Comet however that should be even more abrasive I'm not sure.
