Well I haven't used my rear curtain in about 2 yrs. This week I broke it out to hang and noticed it was filthy! to say the least, I keep it hanging in my garage so not to fold or roll it.Today I saw a break in the weather ( 70's ) so I figured I'd wash my Trophy. All I use is a boat wash, but It didn't even begin to clean the E. glass, it's all greasy, sticky, and soap is not gonna was it off. Any ideas what to use that's not gonna ruin it?

Re: cleaning Ensinglass

Well it's attracted everything in the air to it..... I would ask an awning company what they suggest. There are plastic cleaners (because I imagine it is cloudy) for the clear plastic parts and 409 or simple green on the other parts.

I actually used straight houshold bleach on one but that was drastic. The plastic was so clouded that I gave up on cleaning it and had new plastic sewn in (awning shop).

Once you have it clean you need to coat it with a commercial wax designed to preserve it. Some people will call it an insulator wax and it prevents the chemical breakdown. I liked to store my curtains with a pice of material and encase the whole thing.

well, I just tried Pledge... It was ok for the clean stuff but didn't clean the dirty stuff too good. Had a little 303 left over and that seemed to do it ok, but still cloudy, and a lot of elbow grease,. I'm gonna try 210 and see if that works before I spend 24.00 on 303. Tring to watch my pennies, I unemployed at the time

I have used pledge on many things and it works okay. It leaves a film but does not last long.

I do understand watching pennies. Hang in there and good luck.
