If your hardware is turning green it is probably bronze with chrome plating on them. The chrome plating gets damaged the salt moisture turns the bronze hardware green. The hardware could be refinished, but is probably just as easy to replace. If they are not to bad, a high speed electric polisher and some chrome polish can help them look better, although when the wax disapears the green returns, accompanied by more chrome flaking. Sooner or later it will have to be refinished or replaced.
