Paper straws only, the plastic one can develop a static charge.....:p

Don't forget to bond yourself to all electical parts too....Might also be prudent to check pH of water and density using a hygrometer to check the source, don't take any chances!

How do you wash out your bilge, i cant even see down into mine to see if there is water in there or not. Tip the bow up as high as i can and open the drain, i hope that's working for me.

Hehe...I can actually sit inside the engine bay and work on the engine, cleaning the bilge needs a little stretch, but certainly no hardship. One of the many reasons we bought this one over the doral.

I dont even look in the bilge, I press the switch, see if water comes out, if not I'm good to go. I'm sure it's full of oil and grease and such, who cares :) maybe I'll clean it this fall....

I don't understand ppl who take the plug in and out. Def not needed.

Now I have to respectfully disagree. If you leave your boat covered or anywhere where rain could possibly get, it CAN get soaked at some point. The cover can sag or get blown off, resulting in a boat FULL of water if the plug is in.

I guess I should have pointed out I run dual batteries and have an auto bilge.

I keep it in a slip about 1 mile from my house and after any heavy storm go down there and check it out..

Well yes if its in a slip I would highly recommend leaving the plug in!
