Re: Cleaning Skid Marks On Fiberglass

hi blake....welcome to i boats....:)

best forum on the net....im just a few hours north of you.

HMMMM......black rubber marks......huuuummmmm....= *&%(*&^%*&%$&@!!

they are a real P.I.T.A bud...

lost of elbow grease.....and comet....if the comet doesnt get them all off...then hit with a cut polishing compound......i use a product called farecla....
it works....but there is no miracle cure......just lots of sweat and elbow grease.

i just polished a coustomers boat.....he had two tall trailer guide/bumpers on his trailer......all they did was leave big black marks up and down his hull....i would have charged him triple except for he had a young family....and i decided to give him a break.......but a lot of time was spent on them.

cheers

You can also try using a 3m eraser which mounts in your drill. It is used to remove decals, but would likely work to remove rub marks as well.

As for preventing future rubber/plastic skid marks.. don't eat rubber and plastic  (couldn't resist)
