I have a 91 Yamaha 70hp and looking for a tool that can clean the inside of the steering tube. I have heard people using shotgun brushes but that sounds very abrasive to me. I was looking for something that is long enough to sand the inside of the tube.

Re: Cleaning Steering Tube

you need something stiff enough to get the crud off the aluminum tube. it's not like it is the cylinder wall of the engine.

Re: Cleaning Steering Tube

The steering tube brush is a cylindrical wire brush designed to remove the cacked up grease and salt. It will not damage the wall of the tube.
