Re: cleaning sunbrella top
Charlie,

I own an awning company and deal with Sunbrella on a daily basis. Great material although the grey is a bit tricky. If your really gung ho on getting it clean here is what you can do. Take it off the boat and make a solution of 1 cup of bleach to 2 gallons of water, and about a half a cup of ivory liquid soap. Soak it really well with a hose and scrub it with a medium bristle scrub brush. If that does not take the marks off then you can rinse it with a power washer. BE VERY CAREFUL as you can easily damage the Subrella by doing this. You must keep the nozzle about a foot away from the fabric or you will split the fibers. It sounds to me like the mill finishing is also gone so you will need to apply a top coat after it is clean and dry. You can use a variety of silicone based products found at your local auto parts store used for convertible tops. After all this is said and done, a simple rinsing after each trip should keep your top looking good. Advice, when you get a new top get a dark color, and if this does not work, it is not going to get clean. Good luck.

Shady
