I have 150 Merc and it runs fine. The only problem - is that when you take the cowly (cover?) off, the motor is not nice and clean looking (like a new one).

Is there any product/method I can use to clean it up and make it look nice and clean? Or am I asking for trouble?

Thanks
John

Mineral sprits and then wash with freshwater. Or go buy some engine cleaner like "gunk" and wash.

Simply Green and it will smell good too. I wouldn't blast it into the electronics...put a little on a rag. I try to keep'em looking new. If you have some parts that are corroding; then a little wire brush and some paint. ;)

Use a spray can of De-greaser, avail at marine stores,it cleans well and evaporates. Put plenty of rags at the bottom of the engine cowling, then wipe down the engine.

hey guys its one of my best kept secrets "FANTASTIC" works well to degreasemotors and to clean that nasty stain off white fiberglass the longer it soaks the better it works. I use it to take that stubborn brake dust off my mag wheels!!! :D
