Cleanup question(glue)???

I have a black plastic steering wheel that had aluminum inserts on the spokes.The inserts are long gone,and a hard yellow residue is left over.Any idea's how i can get it off without ruining the wheel???

Maybe Goo-Gone, but I'd try a small spot to make sure it does not harm the finish of the wheel.

the yellow stuff is old clear coat and as far as getting it off... well if ya want the brushed look get after it with some emory cloth and then clean up the scratches with steel wool and or a small dremel buffer with rouge.. but that is about it
