???? Gluvit is a "creeping" or flowable epoxy but not really clear. For what purpose?

CPES is really just epoxy resin that has been thinned. You can pretty much do the same with an epoxy resin like West Systems thinned down with MEK.

Two years ago, I was redoing the carpet on my old wood dock. Before I put the new carpet down, I bought a gallon of epoxy resin and mixed in MEK until I got it thinned to a point where I thought it would work best. I also do the same if I am ever replacing wood in my boat. It always gets a coat of the thinned epoxy resin.

Boomyal,
I got the idea of CPES from looking at your boat project. Thanks for the link, its going to take awhile to digest all that info.. What would you have done differently if you did'nt use CPES? I like the 1:1 mixture, it seems like a no brainer to me. I can get two gallons for under $200. That should be more than enough for my stringers and new floor. Is there a cheaper alternative without all the guess work in mixing?

I have experimented with various solvents and found that MEK mixes the best with epoxy resin.

I have purchased epoxy by the gallons from the company that Boomyal linked. They were very prompt in shipping and have good prices.

Bruce,
So after buying a gallon of epoxy, you mix what you need plus hardner then thin with MEK?

That is what I did. In my case, I just used the entire 1.5 gallons for my dock.

Send an email to the guy at epoxy products(Boomyal's post) concerning what you want to do. His name is Paul Oman. He will advise you how and what to mix. Ask him about MEK as a solvent.

i do find that the cure time is pretty long when thinned with solvent. Make sure you allow at least overnight for it to cure and buy the quicker hardener.

I used the regular no blush epoxy when I was waterproofing my dock. I didn't use the ESP155.

These days, I just buy smaller portions and find that I only need less than a quart at a time so I just go down to West Marine and pay through the nose there for West System epoxy.

Thanks, I'll give Paul a call next week and bend his ear.. Funny you mention West Marine, the are haveing there no tax weekend this weekend. The West System is very pricy like $122 a gallon thats ony for the epoxy too.
