Have an older Clinton. Don't know the year or hp. Any info would be appreciated.

!959-1968 if I'm reading the fine print correctly.
5.76 CID single making 5 horses at 6,800 RPM
Champion J12J plug or current equivalent gapped at .025". Points at .020".
Compression at cranking speed @ 60 PSI.
Tillotson carb, initial settings:
Hi speed=1 turn out from lightly seated
Lo speed-3/4 turn out from lightly seated

Expect bad seals in the lower unit.
Check L/U to see if it's still good before spending $ to get the engine running.
In my limited experience with the 'blue-collar' outboards by Clinton & Eska that use the same L/U it has been a snap to get the engines running well but the chintzy L/U is their Achilles Heel. Bad seals and ignorance their worst enemies.
