Comment from Bill Clinton regarding the upcoming ABC 9/11 special, “I just want them to tell the truth…that’s all….”

Is that not the funniest thing you’ve ever heard?

Those protectors of free speech the democrats are threatening the licences of ABC owned affiliates if this airs. Got to love the left wing of the democratic party, all talk no convictions. Unless they change their minds.8)

Come on Pointer, how did you dream up Dems threatening license of ABC. Sounds like too much Rush and Liddy for you. Dems have no such control.

That is funny for Clinton, just the truth and only the truth. I do agree however that I hope it is based on truth not some ones imagination.

I do agree with many on the right today and say Dems get your nose out of ABC business it is free speech.

Re: Clinton weighs in....

Hypocracy of the left on display, is all this is;

NewYorkPost said:
"The content of this drama is factually and incontrovertibly inaccurate and ABC has the duty to fully correct all errors or pull the drama entirely,” reads the letter, written by Bruce Lindsey, head of the Clinton Foundation, and Douglas Bond, a top lawyer in Clinton’s office.

They can dish it out,but cannot take it(CLICK HERE) as in fictional portrayals of a Bush being assasinated -- but that's different..... It's Bush, not his holiness, Clinton.

The above clearly illustrates their dual standard,(them and us).
Shamless!

The NY Times commenting on Journalistic ethics. Good greif. They can always run a retraction 8 months from now at 2.06am on a Sunday night, much like the Times does after front page expose's are found to be completely wrong and they put a correction on page 29 about one sentance long.

Seems to me there was a special on Reagan a while back that was to air on CBS that the right managed to block.

I don't know anything about that one, but if it was an unfair or inaccurate portrayal, I am for it.

This is simply too important a topic to play blatant political games with, and Clinton (or any recent or living historical figure) has a right to request any portrayal to at least attempt to be accurate.

Well, I am on Clnton's side regarding his comment.

Whatever that film presents will be seen as the truth by millions of sheeple, so it needs to be the truth.

Both sides: Quit cluttering up this issue with old stories and irrelevant history. Clinton lying about one thing doesn't make him a liar about everything and it doesn't give others the right to lie about him. Heck, the truth about him is bad enough. 8)

JB,

Clintons quote is for public consumption, his minions are out trying to censor and threaten.

No, pw2 and JB, ya missed the point. Forget the topic, the irony is in him asking for honesty to prevail...in any context. You must admit the guy pretty well tarred himself with the fibber's brush.

See, Bill Clinton lied six ways from Sunday when it suited his purposes; now he requests that truth hold sway. Next thing you know, his wife will be runnning for public office on a truth-in-government ticket!

Apples & oranges, Bob.....
I think that his statement, while ironic, should be adhered to.....
I do enjoy how Rehubs still relish Bill's indescretion!
Even though the witch hunt failed & a large amount of his energy was wasted during that time with no real result....
I always get a chuckle when I get the visual of Monica under the desk......d:)

I agree with JB.

What has all of this to do with the topic?

To all those that want it aired as is, fine. Defend it's accuracy and faithful representation of history. If it's accurate, or defendable as attempting to at least try to be accurate, and you ought to be able to defend it that way, and not defend a political hachet job on free speech grounds.

I also agree with JB -- with a disclaimer.
That being; The episode in debate is only the first one, and doesn't get into the Bush-bashing... YET.
In the meantime, the efforts to censor this mini series is typical and a joke on both sides of the issue.

Well, thanks to all the hoopla and the fact that the media is going right along with Clinton and Company, giving them a voice in denouncing the movie as pure fiction, by the time it airs half the country will already believe it's all made up, even if it is factual. Its already lost its integrity.
