Re: clockwise or counter clockwise

In a word, it doesn't matter. With the rubber vanes, they will turn with a new impeller and go in the proper direction, even if you put them in backwards. An old impeller that has taken a set may not turn around, but for all the work it takes, putting an old impeller back in is a big waste of time for the cost of an impeller.

Re: clockwise or counter clockwise

praps the length of the vanes varies from one impellor to another.. the longer and more curled the vanes are the harder it would be for em to turn around if fitted the wrong way.. i just fitted a new impellor in an old chrysler 9.9 outboard and the vanes looked that long and curled it didnt look that they would turn easy if fitted the wrong way..

i aint saying they wont turn.. just that in some instances they might get damaged while doing so..

it clearly makes sense to fit them the right way around in the first place if the vanes look long and curled.. shorter less curled ones probably dont matter..

trog100
