I finally got my 1974 9.9 Johnson running like new. Ran it on the water and now it seems to jump out of gear, and then back in, if I try to turn at higher rpm's. I have been doing some searching on here and it sounds like it could be this clutch dog wearing out. I have never got into a lower unit before. I hear different things about doing this. Some say don't do it unless I plan on spending a lot of money to fix my skrew ups, some say piece of cake.

- How difficult is replacing the clutch dog on this particular motor (MOD#10R74S - Serial#E3955289?
- Can it just be flipped around and re-used?
- Could it be something besides the clutch dog?

thanks
