No pics of the whale shark, but a few of the cobia we nabbged following it. We were off the Pinellas reef, West of Clearwater, Fl fishing with an assortment of dead/live baits when a huge 40' whaleshark passed by with a gaggle of cobia all over it. My buddies pinfish was inhaled and he landed a 22#. An hour later the shark returned with his entourage and my pinfish was swallowed by a 30#. Everything died by 2:30 and we headed back..

Cool, them cobia are good eating. A couple of weeks ago while offshore everytime someone on the boat brought a kingfish up there were 2 or 3 cobia following it. We had a pitch bait ready but could not get them to bite.

Yeah, those cobia [ling, lemonfish] sure love the shade. They can be hard to get to bite, but have found that it's hard for them to resist a BIG live shrimp.
