The lower Chesapeake encompasses a very large area. Techniques and seasons can vary tremendously from location to location and season to season. Down in the mouth of the Bay it’s an early season fishery and most if done via chumming, although a lot of guys will sight cast to them. Most of the local fishing rags detail the fishery every spring for those who want to try their hand at it
Further up the Bay things are very different. It is a limited fishery as to time and locations and I am not going to “Spot Burn” by posting details on an internet forum. If you additional detail send me a private meaasage
