Cobra drive install-Question

put my drive back on today and it was way to easy!
Turned the driveshaft a little and it slid right in.
Only thing that concerned me was the last 1/4 inch had to be pulled in by tightening the bolts. Is that where the housing meets the ujoint bellows and compresses to seal? I checked the shifter and it shifts smooth without binding. I went over this a couple times in my manual and am sure i did it right..
Just wondering..

The drive should go to within 1/16" of the bellhousing. Your problem may have been one of the orings rolled on the splined shaft when going into the gimbal bearing, or possibly there was too much grease in the coupler and hydrolocked it. As you tighened the bolts down, the grease would squeeze out past the splines, The oring whould just get cut off.

Thanks Don, If one of the orings came off or got cut would it hurt anything? I did grease the shaft with a thin coat of grease.
