A quick ? for you cobra guys.
Got a 1988 4.3L cobra setup on a 17ft runabout.
Is it normal for water to run from the exhaust bellows when the drive is on the muffs in the driveway?
I know the new exhaust bellows has the slits in the bottom , but there is no water at all (maybe a trickle) coming out the prop holes.
Thanks for any info! :)

Re: Cobra Drive Water Output

Well....I used to be a "Cobra Guy"

Most of the water will run out thru the slits.

Mine ran without an exhaust bellows for about 10 years.

Cheers,

Rick

My '89 does the same thing.
First start on the hose this year I expected to see water pouring out the prop - glad to know coming mainly out the exhaust bellow is fine.

Bought this boat in '03 -- wasn't aware of the shift cable issue and how exact it needs to be, we were learning as we went. Appearently the previous owner wasn't aware either because we went through a set of gears early in our 2nd season.
Since the rebuild just routine maintenance - we've been really happy with it.
