Re: Cobra hard to shift

To be honest, it makes perfectly good mechanical sense that with a dog clutch set up it would activate both ways.
Why? When in gear the teeth are meshed with a the cut of the gears holding them together. No friction needs to exist at all going into gear.

If its operating when shifting into gear your lower shift cable has too much friction. You store your drive tilted down or up?

You should start a new thread with your problem rather than tack onto an existing thread.

Okay, I think that the michiganmotors est is da bom digidy. I bought mine from another company that shipped me a bad module and then told me that there was no warranty, but I digress. BUY THE EST!!!! After timing the motor, take and sell the esa mod on ebay, cut the white wire, connect the shift microswitch to the ignition and then hook the other wire on the microswitch to the black wire on the EST dist. This works like buttah! I went thru HELL, mallory points to mallory breakerless to pertronix, then 2 carbs, then to EST and then I bought all the components of the EST out of spite from EBAY and did it all for about 150 bucks.
