If its operating when shifting into gear your lower shift cable has too much friction. You store your drive tilted down or up?
You should start a new thread with your problem rather than tack onto an existing thread.
Why? When in gear the teeth are meshed with a the cut of the gears holding them together. No friction needs to exist at all going into gear.To be honest, it makes perfectly good mechanical sense that with a dog clutch set up it would activate both ways.
