I was looking at my motor and noticed some black tar like gunk on my lower coil. I don't know that much about outboard engines and can use some help here. I would guess I have a coil going bad so I have been looking around the internet with no luck finding the coils on this engine. Does anyone know where to get replacement coils? The ones on here don't look anything like mine:confused:

Ok, so if it is a single carb 1973 it does not have coil ignition. It should be magneto, but you could have the (i think magna ignition) which would be coil fed, not many out there. What is the model #?
