i checked each of my 6 coils and the ohms on the primary resistance were 0.01 on each coil, according to my clymer manual, each should be reading between 0.05-0.15 my questions are is it normal for all to go bad at one time and will this cause firing problems, or is there something else that can be causing this.

the secondary resistance all fell in between 225-325 which the book states is normal

What problems are you having to check the coils?

it seems the sparks comes and goes, i thought it was a fuel problem, but some times it starts and some times it dont. like today the engine popped a couple of times but wouldnt catch and stay started. i sparyed a fuel mix directly into the carb and nothing happened, it just continued to turn but wouldnt start.

i had this same problem ( i have 2 90 200HP) it was the battery. got a new battery and cleaned every connection with a wire brush and applied electric grease and she started right up and runs like a champ. However if you do need parts i have a spare 90 CR unit that has all good parts that i am parting out becuase the gear case went out.
