Re: coil spark plug wires ?

Typically the 1987 125 HP motors have the Prestolite ignition system. These spark plug wires cannot be changed. The coils and CD modules are either black or blue. If you have a picture, it would be helpful.

The wires for the outboard CD ignitions are solid wire. Most automotive wires are spiral wound resistance wires to prevent electromagnetic interference from interfering with the radio and electronics in the car. Not advisable to use this type of automotive wire on the Force ignition systems.

There are some solid wire automotive spark plug wires available for the older antique cars that can be used, however, most standard automotive spark plug wires sold in the stores these days are spiral wound resistance type.
