Coincidence or mechanic error??

Just had my waterpump serviced on my 95 150 hp Ocean Pro.After starting the motor on muffs,there is now fresh gear oil dripping out weep hole in the lower unit.I have owned this motor for years and it has never leaked a drop.Is it possible the mechanic did something that contributed to this condition or possible coincidence

Maybe he lubed the drive shaft, I'd check the gear oil after a water run.

I thought of that but it is just too much lube and it has been seeping out since I started the boat on muffs the other day.Charlie

Take it back and have your mechanic fix it right.

possibly he pressure checked the unit and the shift seal lost the seat on the shaft.only takes an extra pump or two...just a thought.
