Re: Cold start procedures help.

Did you have fuel stabilizer like Stabil or Seafoam in fuel, how much fuel in tank? If fuel not stabilized, then good idea to drain/check entire fuel delivery system before sucking bad? fuel into carbs/injectors. If your fuel was stabilized then they may crank right up. Check/clean/replace your fuel/water separater and on-motor filters, check/clean/replace spark plugs. Charge your batteries. Depending on preparation/winterizing, 5 months is not all that long. Good Luck!

make sure the water flow holes are clear and free from debries etc..

Then use the choke, and crank and once the engine started then use the fast idle to increase the rpm (disable the choke) for like 20-30sec to about 3000rpm.

Then keep it for like 1 min above 2000rpm and then see if is idles ok? Most probably not as it may require carb cleaning and idle jet cleaning etc..

Also, if it is a Autolube (with Oil pump) then you may have to bleed the oil pipes as well to get the air out of the oil pipes.

vandad suggests using the choke; I find with my 150 that the manual choke on front of the engine helps when it hasn't been run for a month or so. New plugs are always nice, too, or clean yours (soak in white vinegar overnight) if you can.

Re: Cold start procedures help.

Wow i'm impressed with the fast replies from all of you guys, i really appreciated.
I will follow step by step as you guys recommend, i'm going to have to drain the old gas, about 15 gallons remaining, since i didn't use any fuel stabilizer. Also i'm going to use new spark plugs. Will do it next Saturday, i will reply with the good news. Thanks everyone.
