Well maybe, I'm not entirely familiar with that particular experience. Iowa's technique is more to lead at the half and then fold in the 2nd half. Our coach firmly believes that any time you have a lead, however small, you should stop playing offense until that lead is blown. Then you try to get it back if you can. Makes the game more interesting.

We called it Tressel ball in Ohio. It works I guess, but painful to watch. With a two score lead Coach Tressel would start getting the bench people in. Most games he was able to play all the players in the game, at some point. You can tell your grandchildren "I played in the xxx bowl..etc"

Hey wimusky, How about Alvarez winning another bowl game. He coached against some of the best and won more than his share. The seniors go get him to take the bowl and the old coach came up big. :peace:
:first: in my book

Your correct, spikes ... Alvarez was awesome to watch and is a class act.

As for Tressel ball, it was Paterno ball also. With a 2 TD lead he would get 85 plus players in the game. That experience would pay off in years to come, and was neat to see the younger guys, and the seniors that didn't have the skill sets, get in to play, but man it could be frustrating! With 10 minutes to go in the game you knew the plays were going to be run straight up the gut, and with 2 minutes to go it was victory formation.

Well Sam, with one game left, we are tied. Should we flip for who picks who in the Championship game? Or pick the same team so we are sure we both get a piece of first?😝

Oregon's demise will be a lack of yellow or green on their uniforms. I've never seen a team change their look so often in a season. Does Nike pick up the "bill"(lol), or the Ducks?

How many versions of yellow and green can you do?

I am sure the players wanted something different so they went with what looks like an OSU home uniform of all combos!
