We still have two feet of snow and the temps are still 0*C or less and I'm running out of things to maintane.

One thing I have never put any grease to is the remote throtle/shifter. I'm wondering if I have to take it appart or is there a way to get grease in there?

Once again, thanks....

Ken

P.S. I did search the question without much success.

Complete disassembly is required. Never took one apart that needed grease. Not like anything inside moves fast and burns it up.

Re: Commander 3000

I have an older Commander 2000 (outboard) controller on my boat. It felt a little 'dry' a few years back, so I removed it, opened it up and put a really nice grease, Aqualube (we use it in the ROV industry) and it's been really nice ever since. There's no need to fully disassemble as all the slides are accessible with just the back cover off.

HERE is a link to the manual for the controller. (section 4G, page 14 should be what you're looking for).

Re: Commander 3000

Thanks Chris. I just added that to my collection of manuals. It looks kind a complicated in there, so I think I'll take Don's advice and not open a can of worms that doesn't really need to be opened. Every thing is working good, as far as I can tell. I'll just have to wait till the snow goes away and try everything then.

Thanks again guys....

Ken
