Comming back from the lake this weekend I looked in my rear view after getting off the high way and noticed my sun bed was flipped up. I got out ran to the back of my truck to see the support straps ripped off the wood from the wind and that my 2 back cusions where by the 2 front seats. This is the first time this happend to me and Im 95% positive they where all clipped down because I check and then my girl friend did. How many of you out there has this happend to?

Im so glad I didnt lose anything or had more damage now im scared to pull the boat up to the lake without the cover on :/ . I wasnt going that fast on the high way 65 max.

Dunno what to say other than wind can cause lots of things to move around when you don't want them to. Maybe try fasting a strap over the sunpad to keep it locked down during trailering?

Yup running without a cover is like a giant vaccuum cleaner attacking the innards. Anything that isn't tied down properly is coming out. You're lucky you caught it in time, check all those snaps for the cushions thoroughly.

Happpened to me last year, wind got under it and ripped one of the strut braces right out. I secured it again and drove just a few miles and this time it ripped the other one out, and destroyed the hinge itself.

I feel for ya.

Agree with the others...after many years of being reluctant to tow with cover on, I am convinced it's the only way to go. I only tow twice per year, to and fro, 100+ miles each way...but last year had a lot of stuff in the boat. First some of the stuff flew out at about 70 mph...I still can't figure out how, but it did. Next my whole seat back/engine hatch lifted, ripped the straps and tore off the neumatic pistons. Damn good thing I slowed fast enough or that would have been sprawled accross the highway too. Now I tow with a full mooring cover in place...works great!!
