Common Question...Alpha One Speedometer

I recently bought a 1995 Chaparral 1930SS with a 5.0L Mercury and Alpha 1 outdrive. So far everything is fine except the speedometer, it hasn't worked since I bought it and I start to look around on the outdrive and found the tube from the lower unit has a plastic end broken so it won't stay together. Anyone know where I cen get the connector to fix this?

Another question...when cruiser at no wake speed the boat runs fine most of the time, but every once in a while it will start to sputter and die. I think it is getting to much gas in the carb. Any suggestions?

The pick up tube should be had at any Mercruiser dealer.
The carb might need the air screws adjusted.Or you have water in the system. Check the fuel filter.Jerry

Since you just got the boat and possibly know nothing of it's maintenance history, it wouldn't hurt to give it a full tuneup.
