hello everyone, new memeber...i am looking for some boating wisdom and advice. i have a small 17ft bayliner capri with oem force 70hp outboard. i had some prop damage last weekend and am looking for some help. i have a 10-1/8 15p that i will be replacing. my question is what kind of difference am i looking at by possibly changing diam and pitch. the issue is my first boat is pretty basic, it does not have a tach so i cant judge rpms. with the oem prop, it just seemed like the motor had more potential. ill be pulling tubes and wakeboarders aswell. thanks in advance.

Re: Complicated prop switch

Welcome,
Unfortunately unless someone has the exact same setup there is no way to make an accurate suggestion for a prop especially
for an up grade. For the health of your motor you need a tach,A Tinytach ($47)will work on your motor and any future motors.
They have a web site,be sure to read all the information.A gps for speed is ideal, some cells have a gps app.
We need your wot rpm and speed to tell how well your motor is working and to tell if your setup is right.
If there is a prop change we need wot rpm and speed to be sure the motor is operating within its rated range.
Without any info I would suggest the same prop. There are also some changes that could be made to help your performance.
You should check to see if a repair is possible and cost effective.
