I have an evinrude ocean pro 175 e175execd. it is a 97 according to plate on back but when you pull up model number it comes up a 1998 I'm having some issues with compression. 5 of the 6 cylinders are within range running around 90 which I know is a little low but its older. On the other one when you turn motor over it pumps up to about the same as the others but then it leaks down to 0. what can be the causes of this. also could someone tell me exactly how I need to be checking it does motor need to be hot with all plugs out or just pull one im checking. when I got motor about a month ago had no issues and ive only ran it one time with no problems.

Check compression with all plugs out; I would get another guage since a leak-down doesn't make sense, the guage is supposed to hold the compression up not the piston. Unless you have an issue with the plug hole itself. Good luck
