Question for Joe Reeves as you seem to be a real expert on omc& johnson.I will soon have a 1994 130 hp johnson. I think the compression is to low at 110 psi would you advise me what a good comp, should be. thank you, claude 70.
Claude.... A compression of 110 psi is fine. In years past the compression was higher but has been lowered somewhat to compensate for the poor quality gasoline that we've encountered.

This is not to say that the engine is trouble free or that it is not, but rather to state simply that a reading of 110 is okay, and as "DJ" (below) has reminded me, more importantly is that the readings be even on all cylinders.

Hopefully others will jump in here with their comments on your question.
claude 70,

I think 110 psi is OK too. Most importantly is that they are even.

I think, once I owned it, I would decarb it, since you probably don't know if it's ever been done.
