compression readings

checked my compresion today on my 1981 merc 150v6 it resd 149 to 150 this is pretty good for this old motot isnt it? steve

I took all six plugs out and the spark plug wires and screwed in my gauge on each cylinder then cranked the motor a couple of seconds and those were the readings i got . thank you steve

Sorry, I wasn't questioning your technique. By the sounds of it that motor is in great condition. My comment about accuracy related to the guage itself. Not all are created equal, and some read way off true values. So long as you're within 5 to 10% of each other you should be all set. Happy boating!
