Hi All,

My 1979 AQ260A 350 Chevy ...820 hrs in mostly salt water...about 200 hrs on new heads I did....

It runs about 145psi in all cyl except #3 which is 130-135psi

Since I've got the engine out now....would you replace it....or go for another 5 years....and bring a kicker for insurance....:) ???

thanks for your input

I'd run it. Without a kicker, btw.

Just reread, salt water, I think a longblock may be in order, if you've got the funds.

thanks for your reply. Then the next question is Vortec or not? Mich Mtrs said a new vortec would be 315HP as opposed to the orig 260HP....how does that affect propping?? and these are duoprops....

You may need to reprop. But thats only 800 more. Is the boat currently underperforming? There's more differences than just the heads on that motor. Make sure what you buy will bolt up.
