Yea, I'm a cadet, but have read alot on here [some very controversial] about compression testing. I am going to look at a 98 Parker 21' with a 150 Yamaha OB and I know for a fact this boat rarely hit the water [trailered only]. Probably 100 hours max. Here are my plans:
1. Run engine up to running temp.
2. Yank plugs, and apply kill switch.
3. Keep the fresh water muffs running.
4. Test each cyl 4-8 puffs.
What kind of PSI am I looking for? I always check lower unit for milk shake.
How am I doing so far, and what else can I do, or do different? Thanks

Look at plugs and around 110-120 on all within 5% if it is a 98. I use a sharpie and wright the cylinder number on all the plugs. After I remove them I wright the PSI on paper next to the plug. Leak down on the other side of the plug. When all done take a photo and save it for the customer.
