Re: Computer Crash

To troubleshoot a mess like that, you disconnect everything from the motherboard, disks, diskette, any usb cables, and remove the memory, and all cards, including video.

If the video is on the motherboard, it should light up and tell you memory is missing. If not, it should beep at you, probably about 6 times telling you the video can't be found.

Install memory and video next.

Then install disks and such one at a time and try it. An inverted ide disk or floppy disk cable can prevent post.

Bent pins on the CPU, bad CPU fan, wrong memory, etc. All bets are off.

hope it helps

Another Update running PERFECT now but I did more work.....it crashed while loading the OS......back to the same no video ,mouse and keyboard.....so from the spare parts bin came a new CPU ,power supply and video card and a faster fan for the CPU.....i386 the CPU was toasted forsure while loading the OS it crashed and went straight to the bios screen warning the CPU speed was wrong but it wasn't.....Good news is it's back up and running better now
