Computer speed

Is it my computer or is the site back moving at snail speed again. I know being on dial up make my computer slow but it seems to be up to speed on other sites. Thanks for any responses

I haven't noticed. I've been on and off for the past three days.
I'm running EVDO which is only 115 kbs though.

You might try cleaning out your temporary files, cookies, etc.

Someone is still in dial-up? I haven't heard that infamous screeching sound of a modem since 1998.

Wish there was something else available here, the phone system won't handle DSL and is stuck around 42kbps and I am behind a large hill so Hughes won't get in here either. It's one of the joys of the sticks but I wouldn't trade the homestead for the world.

I have not noticed any problem today. I have been on and off about 10 times today.

I'm using ATT wireless usb card, it works great. Plus you can take it anywhere.

I'm on 1.2Mb/s broadband and I have also noticed that this site seems to be 'hesitating'...

Intermittent speed issues here on DSL. Passes quickly though.

Wish there was something better out here in the country as well. I'm also on dial up.

I'm using ATT wireless usb card, it works great. Plus you can take it anywhere.

How much do you half to pay?? $50 to $60 a month if not more? I have a relative that lives right down the road go to At&t wireless but it was to expensive for them.

As for the speed of the site, seems like I have been waiting longer for a thread to pull up as well at times, not all of the time though.

I'm on dial up too. Most people in my rural area are.

I have to say this is the slowest site I've ever been on. I know the adds slow it down. But, it worse then that. I'm not criticizing the content of the site. It's just the 60 seconds or more that it takes just to add this reply that sucks.

Bob,

You can use FireFox instead of internet explorer. It has a add on that will help block the ads. It's also just faster than internet explorer.
