Hi guys I have a 2003 bayliner with the 3.0l 181
cid engine.. what plugs are for it? And what's the timing for it? My flame arrester says
1 degree ATDC ? But I put in my serial number listed on it on google nothing comes up?
Also what type of carb does that engine have ?

everything is on your spark arrestor
your plugs are listed right there AC - MR43LTS
your base timing is 1 degree ATDC - follow the manual for shorting the ignition module for setting timing

here is a link to the on-line manuals http://boatinfo.no/lib/library.html

Also if my driveway is at an incline and rear unit goes down about 85% is that ok to run the engine to run at idle ??

Trim down, and if you can trim up using the trim switch your good, if you cannot get it to come up unless using the trailer up, then maybe not. Maybe lower the tongue jack.

Here's a pic .lol I should of asked this when I first got the boat, hopefully i didn't do any serious damage.. The only way I can get it more down is if I do what u guys mentioned or if I reverse it onto some wood it'll lift it up a little ?

Looks like it will be alright, a bit high, but should be ok at idle

As Scott mentioned, you have to put your distributor in base timing mode to set the timing. You have a Delco EST distributor.

So no way to check timing unless I put it in base mode ? If that's the case then I'm forced to do the complete timing process? But my rpm gauge isn't working ,and for advance timing check or last step they said I have to rev it to 2400-2800rpm and check advance timing ?

Thank you Scott ...
They never made it clear about just checking , they just said do it. Do i need a rpm gauge for the timing ?
