Connecting Plug

1972 65 Hspr Evinrude. Having trouble with the electrical plug connecting the motor to the various other component. Have it together with the clamp in place, but sometimes it's not making the connection, and other times it is. When it's not nothing occurs at all. Any solution will be greatly appreciated.<br /> Thanks,<br /> Skip

Check for corrosion and make sure some pins are not pushed back into the plug. Sometimes the wires break from the pins or sockets inside the plug. Two things you can do about that. One is to eliminate the plugs and splice the wires directly together. The easiest thing is to define the bad one(s) and connect a jumper from remote harness side of the plug to the motor side.
