Hi all friend

Quick question. Can i connect and leave it connected my trolling motor with my existing marine battery which is already connecfed with 50hp mercury outboard motor? Or can i get some sort of adaptor which control 12v to my troll8ng motor so i dont have to worry about connecting and discounting my trolling motor all the time which i attached to my 14' fibre boat.

Thanks in advance

Using a single marine battery for starting and trolling motor is a bad idea.

First, most marine batteries are built for functioning as a starter battery, not for use as a deep cycle for trolling motor use. There are some that can do both, but that's not a reason to use it for both.

Second, what are you going to do if you accidentally drain that battery a bit too much on a cold motor and forget to bring the manual start rope? Better remember to pack an oar or two to row back to shore.

Yes a bad idea. I learned that back in 1971 and found that Chrysler put a crank rope in a pouch on the under side of the cowling for a reason. Was lucky, It started on the first pull.
