Haven't seen these bodies mentioned when searching, unless I fubar'd something...

They are both (although in opposite directions) near my to an extent with Codorus park (Lake Marburg) about 30 minutes and Conowingo (Susky River dammed up just before mouth of Chesapeake) is about an hour (backroads).

Anyone boat in either and can you give me any tips and such? I know I can't supposedly put my 50hp in Codorus (they have a 20hp limit... yet I've seen big pontoons there and heard people run mid-range motors anyways)... and Conowingo, although big, is far away.

Any help would be appreciated. Also (I know this isn't the fishing forum)... any fishing info/advice for either/both would be appreciated!

Re: Conowingo Lake/Res and Codorus (Marburg)

I was curious about the HP limit of Codorus. My 115 will not make it, I am sure. I understand the Conowingo is 2 or 3 times as large as Lake Clarke, but I have not gone there yet. I am not a fisherman either. I used to fish, but not much any more. I may start to fish in the fall, but right now, I am more in to burning gas and learning my boat. Matter of fact, I am just getting to the end of my fiberglass repairs, so tomorrow will be the first day I have had her in the water since my visit to Goldsboro.

Been boating on Conowingo all my life until this year when I temporarily switched to Lake Clarke (we have a 10 month old and I figured more of my boating would be in the evenings after work and Clarke is closer). I would agree with the assessment that it's 2-3 times larger than Clarke. It is completely open and deep from the point just up river from Peach Bottom Nuclear down river to the damn. I go up river from there all the time but you do need to know your way around.

Anyone put in Glen Cove at Conowingo? I think there's a launch fee there if I'm not mistaken. I've always put in Broad Creek (free launch). But I was wondering if they have bait, food, restrooms, etc. at Glen Cove? Is it a nice place to put in? Long wait times?
